Double bill of film fantasies. 'Stardust' (2007) is an adventure
based on the bestselling graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and Charles
Vess. When a young man, Tristan (Charlie Cox), tries to win the
heart of his beautiful but cold object of his desire Victoria
(Sienna Miller) by going on a quest to retrieve a fallen star, his
journey takes him to a mysterious and forbidden land beyond the
walls of his village. On his odyssey, Tristan finds the star, which
has transformed into a striking girl called Yvaine (Claire Danes).
However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. A king
(Peter O'Toole)'s four sons - not to mention the ghosts of their
three dead brothers - all need the star as they vie for the throne.
Tristan must also overcome the evil witch, Lamia (Michelle
Pfeiffer), who needs the star to make her young again. As Tristan
battles to survive these threats, encountering a pirate named
Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) and a shady trader named Ferdy
the Fence (Ricky Gervais) along the way, his quest changes. He must
now win the heart of the star for himself as he discovers the
meaning of true love. Neil Jordan directs the Irish drama 'Ondine'
(2009). Syracuse (Colin Farrell) is a poor fisherman whose life is
changed forever when he fishes a beautiful live woman (Alicja
Bachleda) out of the sea. His young daughter, Annie (Alison Barry),
is convinced that the mysterious beauty must be a mermaid. Theories
abound about the girl's origins as she transforms the lives of
Syracuse, Annie and the local townsfolk. Stephen Rea and Dervla
Kirwan co-star.
Much of the Bible is a history of God's dealings with his people
Israel. The events it records took place in a specific geographical
environment that involved many people and places. So to more
clearly understand the Bible, it's helpful to visualize how Israel
interacted with her neighbors and was affected by geography.
Baker's Bible Atlas gives you the tools you need to reconstruct the
scenes of history-full-color maps, illustrations, color
photographs, a time line, and more. The concluding chapters trace
the continuing history of Bible lands, emphasizing the work of
modern archaeologists. An index and geographical gazetteer help you
locate significant places of Bible times on modern and traditional
maps. Baker's Bible Atlas is organized to follow the scriptural
narrative, making it especially convenient for Bible study or
textbook use.
This wonderful little book covers everything you need to know about
the types of plants known as weeds. Ehrenfried Pfeiffer discusses
the different varieties of weeds, how they grow and what they can
tell us about soil health. The process of combatting weeds is
discussed in principle as well as in practice, so that it can be
applied to any situation. First written in the 1950s, this is still
one of the best overviews of the subject available.

A classic of modernism – a new Feininger retrospective in the
light of current knowledge Lyonel Feininger (1871–1956) was a
painter, graphic artist and caricaturist. From 1919 he served as
one of the original masters at the Bauhaus in Weimar and later in
Dessau. In 1937 he emigrated to New York, where he worked until the
end of his life. In addition to his famous Expressionist images of
architecture, the publication presents all the facets of his oeuvre
and stations of his life based on the latest research. With some
140 paintings, drawings, caricatures, watercolours, woodcuts,
photographs and objects from all creative phases, the volume
presents a comprehensive picture of Feininger’s work which is
also examined for its topicality. Lines of development and subjects
which characterised his work are discussed in detail by means of
key works in contributions by international authors. In particular
his early paintings are evaluated, alongside the latest research
into the significance of photography in the creative work of the
Bauhaus artist.
The Lives of Images, edited by Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa, is a
series of readers designed for those interested in the ways images
function within a wider set of cultural practices. Volume I of the
series, Repetition, Reproduction, Circulation, addresses the
multiple life cycles of the image-its modes of dispersion,
reception, consumption, and aggregation-and the significance of
technological reproduction for contemporary forms of social,
cultural, and political life. Volume I of the series, Repetition,
Reproduction, Circulation, addresses the multiple life cycles of
the image-its modes of dispersion, reception, consumption, and
aggregation-and the significance of technological reproduction for
contemporary forms of social, cultural, and political life. The
image is considered both a tool for liberation and a means of
repression within the evolving structures of modern life. The
essays consider the implications of the nature and effect of the
reproducible image on the categories, shapes, and aims of
contemporary art and society. Further grounded by two interviews
with practitioners in the field, Repetition, Reproduction,
Circulation promises to be an accessible, rigorous, and timely
resource for all students, educators, and practitioners of

Explore the challenges, opportunities, and pitfalls of the
inclusion of students with disabilities in your classroom Exciting,
complex, and challenging shifts in American education are occurring
today. First, schools are moving to embrace student diversity and
accommodate the classroom experience to support diverse ways of
organizing students for learning. Second, teachers are moving away
from a traditional didactic instructional mode and embracing a
facilitator role that encourages creating innovative classroom
learning opportunities. Third, there is a shift from the view of
the school as providing educational and psychoeducational services
for students to providing educational supports for learning.
Coinciding with these changes is the growing movement in special
education that enourages full inclusion of students with special
needs. This is a far cry from the exclusionary and separatist
movements of special education less than twenty years ago. Now
American education is facing the challenging situation of working
with students with disabilities in the regular classroom.Inclusion
Practices with Special Needs Students provides a much needed
overview of the issues faced by educators committed to
understanding how to best serve children with disabilities in
schools. Inclusion Practices with Special Needs Students: Theory,
Research, and Application provides an overview of the origins,
evolution, and recent developments regarding the inclusion of
students with disabilities into general education classrooms. The
book critically challenges the overriding assumptions that support
the philosophy of inclusion with a balanced presentation or
research and theory that both supports and raises questions about
the viability of this practice. The contributors are authorities in
their respective areas of inclusionary practices. Some of the issues
you will explore in Inclusion Practices with Special Needs Students
are: political, fiscal, and legal events that have shaped inclusion
practices implications for school psychologists handling students
with serious emotional, behavioral, or developmental problems
remaining in regular education agenda for future research
priorities for research, training, and policy reform Inclusion
Practices with Special Needs Students addresses practical,
psychoeducational, philosophical, legal, ethical, and financial
issues surrounding the inclusionary initiative in special
education.

Sequel to Tim Burton's hugely successful 'Batman' (1989). Oswald
Cobblepot was abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three
years later, bent on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the
Penguin (Danny DeVito). First he begins a warped campaign to become
Mayor, helped by millionaire businessman Max Shreck (Christopher
Walken); next, he undertakes a mission to murder every first born
son in Gotham - a plan which will avenge his own beginnings.
Meanwhile, he has two adversaries to contend with: Catwoman
(Michelle Pfeiffer), the embittered ex-secretary of Max Shreck,
and, of course, the old caped crusader himself - Batman (Michael
Keaton).
Today, churches, political parties, trade unions, and even national
sports teams are no guarantee of social solidarity. At a time when
these traditional institutions of social cohesion seem increasingly
ill-equipped to defend against the disintegration of sociability,
K. Ludwig Pfeiffer encourages us to reflect on the cultural and
literary history of social gatherings—from the ancient Athenian
symposium to its successor forms throughout Western history. From
medieval troubadours to Parisian salons and beyond, Pfeiffer
conceptualizes the symposium as an institution of sociability with
a central societal function. As such he reinforces a programmatic
theoretical move in the sociology of Georg Simmel and builds on
theories of social interaction and communication characterized by
Max Weber, George Herbert Mead, Jürgen Habermas, Niklas Luhmann,
and others. To make his argument, Pfeiffer draws on the work of a
range of writers, including Dr. Samuel Johnson and Diderot,
Virginia Woolf and Marcel Proust, Dorothy Sayers, Joseph Conrad,
and Stieg Larsson. Ultimately, Pfeiffer concludes that if modern
societies do not find ways of reinstating elements of the Athenian
symposium, especially those relating to its ritualized ease,
decency and style of interaction, they will have to cope with
increasing violence and decreasing social cohesion.

process from site selection, to site set-up, subject recruitment,
study visits, and to study close-out. Topics include staff
roles/responsibilities/training, budget and contract review and
management, subject study visits, data and document management,
event reporting, research ethics, audits and inspections, consent
processes, IRB, FDA regulations, and good clinical practices. Each

application. Unique to this book is "A View from India," a
chapter-by-chapter comparison of clinical trial practices in India
versus the U.S. Throughout the book and in Chapter 10, readers will
glimpse some of the challenges and opportunities in the emerging
and growing market of Indian clinical trials.
If you were to peer into a primary school classroom somewhere
across Australia and New Zealand, you would be forgiven for
thinking that science, technology, engineering and mathematics
(STEM) education is synonymous with coding and digital
technologies. However, while these aspects are important,
technology alone does not reflect the broad learning opportunities
afforded by STEM. In countering this narrow approach, STEM
Education in Primary Classrooms offers a platform for research that
innovates, excites and challenges the status quo. It provides
educators with innovative and up-to-date research into how to
meaningfully and authentically embed STEM into existing classroom
practices. It incorporates accurate explanations of STEM as an
integrated approach to solving real-world problems, including
social issues, along with case studies and stories to bring
practice to life in evidence-informed ways. This book showcases the
impact of a broader approach to STEM in the primary classroom
through Australian-based and New Zealand-based research that will
challenge current teaching practices. Thus, this book will be of
interest to pre- and in-service primary school teachers, along with
researchers and postgraduate students in the STEM education field.
This book brings together the best advice for cultivating fruit
trees, berries and shrubs using biodynamic methods, with the aim of
harvesting healthy fruit free of pesticides. Ehrenfried Pfeiffer
discusses the principles of tree biology before describing the
measures that can be taken to develop a pest-free orchard without
the use of chemicals, including soil preparation, the selection of
trees for planting, issues of transplanting and pruning, the
application of pastes, green cover crops, and pest control. Michael
Maltas ran fruit tree experiments on his biodynamic farm in
Missouri for four years. The results are recorded in a highly
practical annual spraying schedule for orchards, which is
reproduced in this book. A month-by-month calendar gives
information on specific methods and controls, based on Maltas's
extensive experience. This is an invaluable book with practical
advice on all aspects of planning and maintaining a healthy
orchard. This is a thoroughly revised and updated combined edition
of 'Biodynamic Treatment of Fruit Trees, Berries and Shrubs' by
Ehrenfried Pfeiffer and 'Orchard Pest Management and Spray
Schedule' by Michael Maltas. Published in association with the
Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Association of North America.

Box set containing four films from the popular 'Batman' film
series. 'Batman' (1989) was the first big screen outing for Bob
Kane's caped crusader. The streets of Gotham City are no longer
safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante
in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. Reporter Alexander
Knox (Robert Wuhl) teams with photographer Vicki Vale (Kim
Basinger) in an attempt to discover Batman's true identity - an
investigation which leads them to the door of mysterious
millioniare Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton). Meanwhile, crime boss
Carl Grissom's (Jack Palance) attempt to rid himself of
untrustworthy henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) does not go
according to plan, and after emerging physically - and mentally -
disfigured from a vat of chemicals, Napier reinvents himself as the
psychotic Joker. In 'Batman Returns' (1992), Oswald Cobblepot was
abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three years later, bent
on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the Penguin (Danny
DeVito). First he begins a warped campaign to become Mayor, helped

caped crusader himself (Keaton). In 'Batman Forever' (1995), former
District Attorney Harvey Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) is terrorising
Gotham City, when a new villain appears on the scene - the Riddler
(Jim Carrey). Together they plot to discover Batman's (Val Kilmer)
identity, using a device which can probe the human mind. Meanwhile,
the caped crusader has been joined by Robin (Chris O'Donnell),
whose trapeze-artist family have recently been slain by Two-Face.
'Finally, in 'Batman and Robin' (1997), Batman (George Clooney) and
Robin (O'Donnell) have to stop the vengeful Mr Freeze (Arnold
Schwarzenegger) from taking over Gotham City by using his new ice
weapon. To make matters worse, the venomous Poison Ivy (Uma
Thurman) decides to join forces with Freeze, so making an almost
undefeatable double-whammy of a team. Luckily for the caped
crusader and his rebellious ward, they can team up with a new tough
and courageous new partner - Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone).
Millennials have captured our imaginaries in recent years. The
conventional wisdom is that this generation of young adults lives
in downtown neighbourhoods near cafes, public transit and other
amenities. Yet, this depiction is rarely unpacked nor
problematized. Despite some commonalities, the Millennial
generation is highly diverse and many face housing affordability
and labour market constraints. Regardless, as the largest
generation following the post-World War II baby boom, Millennials
will surely leave their mark on cities. This book assesses the
impact of Millennials on cities. It asks how the Millennial
generation differs from previous generations in terms of their
labour market experiences, housing outcomes, transportation
decisions, the opportunities available to them, and the constraints
they face. It also explores the urban planning and public policy
implications that arise from these generational shifts. This book
offers a generational lens that faculty, students and other readers
with interest in the fields of urban studies, planning, geography,
economic development, demography, or sociology will find useful in
interpreting contemporary U.S. and Canadian cities. It also
provides guidance to planners and policymakers on how to think
about Millennials in their work and make decisions that will allow
all generations to thrive.
